Nneka Obiagwu is a wife and mother of two amazing boys, one of whom is on the autism spectrum. Her experience with her son turned her into a passionate advocate for children with special needs in general and autism in particular. She is currently The Chief Operating Officer at COMACO Advisory Ltd, a Cooperative Management and Advisory Company. She is also the founder and president of The Child Restoration Initiative (CRI), an educational advocacy (and support) group for children with autism. She is the creator and administrator of the first Nigerian social media page on autism awareness called Nigerians for Autism on Facebook, over a thousand members strong, the page is solely dedicated to raising awareness and facilitating discourse and encouraging action about autism treatment and management in Nigeria. Nneka is also one of the founding members of Autism Parents Association international (APAi) an umbrella coalition of parents united to spearhead advocacy for issues relating to autism in Nigeria. She is the author of an illustrated children’s book on autism awareness and acceptance titled – Different But The Same.
She earned a Bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a Masters degree in International Conflict Analysis from University of Kent’s Brussels School of International Studies, Brussels. She spent some time gaining experience at the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the ECOWAS Parliament and also at Kiddy and Junior Classes, Brussels. She terminated a promising banking career in corporate Nigeria to focus on raising awareness on the need for early intervention services for children with developmental and learning disorders in Nigeria following her son’s diagnosis. She continues to speak and write commentaries on the subject and tirelessly canvasses to raise our national awareness on the plight of low-income families struggling with children with special needs.
Nnamdi Obiagwu is father to two outstanding young boys, one of whom is on the autism spectrum and thus began his passion and interest in autism advocacy. He is currently the ED/COO at Eterna PLC. He graduated from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, where he studied Mechanical Engineering. He has attended various local and international trainings including; INSEAD Kenan-Flager Business School, Enterprise Leadership Program, Achieve Global Professional Selling Skills and Acclivus Professsional Negotiation.
Nnamdi Obiagwu started his career in Computer Networking, he moved to Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc as a Sales Engineer where he rose through the ranks and became Logistics/Fleet Manager having garnered experience in the Lubricants, Fuels, Supply Chain, Logistics and Planning areas of the business in Nigeria and Belgium. He left to gather experience in consulting, business advisory and Marine.
His work experience cuts across IT, Sales, Business Development, Financial & Business Reporting, Data Analytics, Distributor Network Development, Fuels Territory Management, Fuels Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Oil &Gas Consulting, Financial Advisory and Marine Vessel Management. He has served on the Boards of various private companies and remains committed to driving advocacy for children on the spectrum in Nigeria
Adetoun Okunoren is a graduate of the University of Lagos. She worked as a consultant for MTN Nigeria for two and a half years. She was involved in a few entrepreneurial ventures such as Novell Consulting (a Training outfit which offers specialized classroom based training to the telecommunications sector) and Todds Services Corporate Gifts. Adetoun is currently the managing director of Nutri-Centre Limited. Nutri-Centre retails health foods particularly foods for people with gluten and dairy intolerances and/or certain ailments and conditions such as Autism, Celiac, hyperactivity, ADHD, diabetes and other conditions in children and adults alike. Adetoun is also a non-executive director of Clementina Center for children with special needs. She is married and blessed with three lovely kids, one of whom is totally recovered from autism.
DR. EMEKA ENEJERE
Dr. Emeka Enejere is a Political Scientist. He is a former university lecturer and had lectured at Nassau Community College Westbury, USA; York College, City University of New York, Jamaica Queens New York USA, he equally lectured at Adelphi University Garden City, USA and at The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria. He is a seasoned statesman and has served in various capacities within the Country. He has served as Deputy Director, Political Education Department, Directorate of Social Mobilisation (MAMSER) of the Nigerian Presidency; he was also the Political Adviser of the political party National Republican Convention, (NRC) Nigeria; he was equally a Consultant/ Special Adviser to the Minister of Industries, Alhaji Bamangar Tukur, Federal Republic of Nigeria and also the Political Adviser of the political party Democratic Party of Nigeria (DPN), Nigeria. He is also the immediate past Pro – Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is currently Chairman and CEO of a group of five companies; he is a Knight of St Paul, Diocese of Nsukka, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion). He is married with 4 children and 7 grandchildren, one of whom is on the autism spectrum. He has a passion for education and children and brings his wealth of experience to the board in an advisory capacity.
